Absolutes are highly concentrated aromatic oils extracted from plants or flowers. They contain a high potency of constituents and are more fragrant than pure essential oils. Some plant properties cannot be extracted from plants using steam distillation because it may destroy their properties in the heating process. Hence, they are required to extract using the solvent extraction. An absolute is a highly aromatic liquid, very concentrated and only a small amount is needed.
